Liuena Academy
Acceloration; magic that does just what it sounds: accelorates things. The speed of the target accelorated depends on the user's abilty to use it and how long the user is in contact with the target. At the highest of levels one can accelorate something as fast (or in rare cases faster than) the speed of light. Alhough it is rare to see someone get much passed the speed of a bullet even after they have reached their fullest potential.
Now I know this sounds like it is very powerful but their are a few drawbacks to this magic type. First and probably most prominate is that those with this type of magic are commonly NEVER are able to completely control it. Second is that it works from any point of ther body at any time. Third is that when it is used without them wanting to the power is unpredictable; it could be a fraction of the norm or several times stronger.
Lucky for those with this type of magic there are cpothes that are not affected by this magic. This way they are not constantly having to buy new clothes. sadly it is so exspensive that the only ways it is worth it is if you either have this magic or are quite rich. Although due to this magic runnng through the blood of the user and it not always being passed along to the kids it is quite rare to come across one f these magic users. Due to the dangers these uses possess to not only themselves but others they are rarely popular (sometimes dispised) solely because of the power they possess.
if there is anything on that idea you would like changed or you do not want this power at all let me know. if I cannot use this type of magic at all then I will go with air if it is not yet taken.

New Novel 'Did She Know Jesus' Follows Woman?s Journey to Find Jesus
Virginia Penrose writes of woman's emotional spiritual quest through foreign lands.
Montgomery, AL (PRWEB) April 10, 2013
Spiritual journeys take many unexpected twists and turns in some unlikely places. Virginia Penrose?s 'Did She Know Jesus?' follows one woman?s journey to gain a personal relationship with Jesus and the bumps in the road she experiences on the way.?I drew a lot of inspiration for this novel from my own life experiences, including my own journey to find Jesus,? said Penrose. ?I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world extensively, so my main character Elaine?s journey is set against an ever-changing back drop of new places.?
After dealing with the illness and eventual passing of her father and experiencing frequent moves across the United States as a child, main character Elaine thrust into historical situations like in London during Princess Diana?s funeral and in Kuwait when the U.S. invades Iraq. Through the instability and turbulence she experiences along her journey, Elaine manages to overcome all of the trials in her life because of her steadfast relationship with Jesus.
Penrose?s goal in writing this novel is to help spread the word of Jesus and show people how important a relationship with Jesus is for a happy life. Elaine?s story serves as an inspiration for those looking to overcome obstacles in their lives and to forge a personal relationship with Jesus.
?Elaine?s journey is meant to show readers that no matter what life throws your way, giving up hope is not an option,? said Penrose. ?Jesus will always be there to guide you through the good times and the bad.?

Secrets of bacterial slime revealed
Apr. 12, 2013 ? Newcastle University scientists have revealed the mechanism that causes a slime to form, making bacteria hard to shift and resistant to antibiotics.
When under threat, some bacteria can shield themselves in a slimy protective layer, known as a biofilm. It is made up of communities of bacteria held together to protect themselves from attack.
Biofilms cause dental plaque and sinusitis; in healthcare, biofilms can lead to life threatening and difficult to treat infections, particularly on medical implants such as catheters, heart valves, artificial hips and even breast implants. They also they coat the outside of ships and boats polluting the water.
Publishing in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, the team reveal how a molecular switch regulates biofilm formation. This new understanding could help identify a new target for antibiotics and prevent other biofilms from forming.
In order to thwart them from causing disease and biopollution, a Newcastle University team have been studying at the molecular level how bacteria form biofilms in the first instance.
They reveal how the master regulator of biofilm formation, a protein called SinR, acts in the model bacterium, Bacillus subtilis.
Richard Lewis, Professor of Structural Biology in the Institute for Cell and Molecular Biosciences who led the research said: "SinR is a bit like a rocker switch, a domestic light switch for instance. In the "down" position, when SinR is bound to DNA, the proteins required to make a biofilm are turned off and the bacteria are free to move. In the "up" position, SinR is no longer bound to DNA and instead interacts with other proteins, and the biofilms genes are turned on."
SinR is a DNA-binding protein that acts to inhibit the expression of proteins required for the synthesis of the molecular glue that holds the biofilm together. The ability of SinR to bind to DNA is carefully controlled by a network of interactions with three other proteins. By the application of X-ray crystallography, the team have determined precisely how SinR interacts with very specific feature of its DNA target.
By understanding how the proteins interact with each other, and with DNA, scientists can look to develop molecules that interfere with these essential processes as a means to stop biofilms from forming.

Green Cheek Conure? About 1-2 weeks old. - Help Me Identify a ...
We didn't think they'd be okay being left alone overnight since they were so tiny. Pretty much naked and their eyes were still shut. So, I was asked to take them home until they were a little bigger.
Like I said, they were supposed to be 2 Lovebirds but they look totally different. Idk if maybe they were so young that the breeder didn't notice?
The "weird" one is very vocal and moves around quite a bit. Unlike the other one that actually looks/acts like a Lovebird and is still quiet.
Here's a picture of the other bird, which is what Lovebirds usually look like...at least from my experience with them.

A look at the North Korea crisis
As the world waits and watches for an expected North Korean ballistic missile test, the U.S. and its allies are prepared to respond if necessary. U.S. officials are conceding North Korea may be increasing its nuclear capabilities but don't expect a nuclear strike. They suggest that other military moves by Pyongyang involving artillery attacks or shelling of nearby South Korean islands could actually present a more serious threat in triggering a conflict.
WHY ALL THE HUBBUB
Since the 1950-53 Korean War, North Korea has feared that Washington is intent on destroying the regime. The U.S. worries that Pyongyang will re-ignite the conflict with South Korea, and is uneasy because little is known about Kim Jong Un, the North's new, young leader, and considers him unpredictable. Both sides have ratcheted up the rhetoric and military muscle moves in recent weeks. North Korea threatened a pre-emptive strike against the U.S., and conducted an underground nuclear test in February and a rocket launch in December. The threats are seen as an effort to pressure Washington and Seoul to change their North Korean policies and convince the North's people that their new leader is strong enough to stand up to its foes. U.S. and South Korean troops have been conducting annual joint military drills in the region since early March, including bringing out nuclear-capable stealth bombers and fighter jets in what the Air Force acknowledged was a deliberate show of force.
NORTH KOREAN MISSILES
North Korea has been steadily working to display an increasing capability to launch missiles. Last year it failed in an attempt to send a satellite into space aboard a long-range rocket. A subsequent launch in December was successful, and that was followed by the country's third underground nuclear test on Feb. 12. U.S. officials believe the North is preparing to test fire a medium-range "Musudan" missile. And a section in a new Defense Intelligence Agency assessment concludes with "moderate confidence" that the North could deliver nuclear weapon by ballistic missiles. The report notes that the delivery system is still not considered reliable.
U.S. RESPONSE
The North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, which has responsibility for U.S. homeland defense, is watching the region via satellite and the USS Fitzgerald and the USS John S. McCain, Navy destroyers armed with sophisticated missile defense systems, have been positioned to best be able to detect and track a missile launch. The U.S. is confident it would be able to shoot it down, but would do so only if it appears to be a threat to America or its allies. The U.S. is also prepared to provide military assistance to South Korea in the event of any other type of attack by the North.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
Secretary of State John Kerry warned North Korea not to conduct a missile test, saying it will be an act of provocation that "will raise people's temperatures" and further isolate the country and its people. President Barack Obama said his administration would "take all necessary steps" to protect American citizens and he urged Pyongyang to end its' brazen threats. North Korea has issued no specific warnings to ships and aircraft that a missile test is imminent. And the country has begun festivities celebrating the April 15 birthday of the country's late founder Kim Il Sung, which is considered the most important national holiday. China has been a longtime political, military and economic backer of North Korea and is considered to have more real leverage over the North. U.S. officials say there are indications Chinese leaders have become frustrated with Pyongyang's recent behavior and rhetoric.

Air Conditioning Thieves Hit Small Businesses in Yuba City | KTXL ...
YUBA CITY?
Police say nine commercial air conditioning units have been stolen since January from mostly small businesses. Police are unsure if the units were taken for resale or stolen by metal thieves.
Air conditioning contractor Clinton Ormosen is a bit more certain.? He was giving an estimate for the replacement of a unit stolen from the Asul Massage studio on busy Colusa Avenue.
?They are stolen for the value of the copper and aluminum.? Metal prices have climbed steadily and it?s become a problem,? said Ormosen.
He says air conditioning units are usually hidden from view for aesthetic purposes ? meaning thieves can work without being seen.
Police believe that business owners sometimes don?t realize that they?ve been victimized because they don?t turn on their units during the winter months.
?Often in these cases the owners weren?t even aware they were gone because they?re not using air conditioning during that time of year,? said Yuba City P0lice spokeswoman Shawna Pavey.
The units that were stolen are worth anywhere from $1,500 to $5,000, which police say is a hardship for small businesses struggling during a down economy.
Pavey says the theft problem is becoming more apparent now that the weather is heating up.? Police say they believe there are witnesses to the thefts, but that people often don?t question why equipment is being removed from businesses, sometimes at odd hours.
?It?s still not too late to come forward if they?ve seen something unusual,? said Pavey.

Qustodio v1.9
When I reviewed the Qustodio parental control service a few years ago, it was an impressive debut that showed great potential. Qustodio v1.9 has realized that potential, with a few bugs fixed and useful new features added. You'll pay $49.95 per year for the full-featured premium edition, but the free edition still offers quite a lot. I'll distinguish between free and premium features in this review.
Qustodio is designed to guide and monitor your kids no matter what device they're using. You can configure up to eight child profiles and install it on up to ten PCs, Macs, or Android devices. Does that sound like your household? Qustodio may be what you need.
Getting Started
Most of Qustodio's functionality is Web-based, but you do need to install its local client on each device that your kids use. During the very first installation, you'll create a Qustodio account, including a master password. A wizard walks you through initial configuration steps; of course you can make changes later.
You'll enter the name, birth year, and gender for each child's profile, and select from one of a handful of boy or girl avatar icons. Next you'll match each profile with the corresponding Windows user account on this computer. You can click a button to create a new user account, if necessary.
When you install Qustodio on another PC, Mac, or a device running Android 4.2 or later, you'll simply match each child account with a user account. Earlier Android editions don't support multiple users, so you can specify just one child per device.
During installation you can enter a device name and optionally check a box to hide Qustodio, making it a stealth installation. Note that if you do choose stealth installation, you'll have to configure it so that it doesn't blow its own cover by blocking website categories.
Online Portal
Setting up the local client on your family's devices is a one-time activity. Once that's done, all your interaction with the program will be through its online portal. On logging in, you'll see one child's activity summary, with tabs across the top to let you select any of the other children.
On your first visit you probably won't see any activity. This is the time to configure Qustodio's rules for each child. I'll come back to the portal and its reports; for now we'll look at configuration.
Web Content Filtering
Qustodio distinguishes 29 different categories of websites. By default, it's set to block access for ten categories, among them Weapons, Pornography, and Loopholes. That last category is important?it refers websites that could allow kids to circumvent parental control.
For each category you can choose to Allow access, Block access, or Alert parents via email. If your aim is to monitor the child's Internet usage in stealth mode, you'll want to set all categories to Allow or Alert.
Qustodio originally relied totally on real-time analysis to categorize websites, and did a good job. The current edition speeds the categorization process using a database of known sites, but retains the real-time analysis. In testing, it handily distinguished between erotic and innocent stories on a short-story website, blocking only the former.
Many Web content filtering tools include an option to block uncategorized websites. For a database-centered product, that can mean that any very new site gets blocked, which may be a problem. With Qustodio's real-time analysis, an uncategorized site will typically be one that's deliberately obfuscating its content to evade analysis, perhaps by putting all text in the form of images, so I'd advise blocking such sites. Qustodio can also force Safe Search on any search websites that support it.
Like all good Web content filters, Qustodio is browser-independent. It also has the ability to block secure HTTPS sites by category, an ability shared with Net Nanny 6.5, Windows Live Family Safety, and AVG Family Safety but not many others. It did a fine job blocking access to secure anonymizing proxies.
Like Net Nanny and WebWatcher, Qustodio goes one step further, actually filtering HTTPS content. I checked by unblocking the Loopholes category and logging in with a secure anonymizing proxy. I still couldn't visit sites matching other blocked categories.
One weakness remains in the Web content filtering area. A tech-savvy child with Administrator access can launch a simple three word network command that will disable Qustodio's control. The product still reports itself as active, but its ability to control and monitor access is gone.
